Healthcare Assistants - Full Time A new position has been made available due to increased work load. The position would suite a school or college leaver or experienced healthcare assistant who is enthusiastic and not frightened of hard but extremley rewarding work. The role is working with residents, making sure their basic care needs are met. A variety of tasks will be carried out, including: - help patients to get around, to eat, bath, dress, and use the toilet.
- carry out regular monitoring of patients, eg taking their temperature, blood pressure and urine samples.
Your aim is always to help patients feel at ease and ensure that they are comfortable at all times. NVQ level 2 would be an advantage but not neccessary as full training and support will be given to develop the successful candidates skills. The individual in question should have the following attributes: - a commitment to patient care
- a warm and friendly nature, an ability to get on with all kinds of people.
- the patience and sensitivity to help patients with intimate tasks
- a general interest in personal health issues.
The successful candidate can work towards NVQs in Care at Levels 2 and 3. NVQ Level 3 in Promoting Independence is also available and may be particularly relevant for healthcare assistants working in nursing homes. A healthcare assistant who gains NVQ/SVQ Level 3 in Care can ultimately train as a nurse. Hours - 35 hours per week on a 3 shift rota which may include some nights. Package - upto £14k dependent on age and experience. |
